We are seeking an experienced individual to join a busy Chartering Desk as a Chartering Broker – based at our Singapore HQ.           

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential clients and projects within our key sectors.
  • Monitor and evaluate market developments, identify chartering opportunities and assess potential returns.
  • Work with the management team on tender submissions.
  • Promotion of AAL’s operating fleet to its global customer base.
  • Manage and negotiate terms and contracts with cargo shippers to achieve maximum revenue.
  • Handle the full process of spot parcel booking and project coordination.
  • Analyse and coordinate voyages in view of vessel positions, cargo requirements and open vessel space.
  • Understand cargo and stowage requirements and liaise with various departments to optimise same.
  • Implement the company’s chartering plan for both tramp and regular liner trades.
  • Handle spot parcel bookings and project coordination.
  • Marketing of AAL’s operating fleet to its global customers.
  • Identify chartering opportunities and evaluate potential returns.
  • Analyse and coordinate voyages in view of vessel positions, cargo requirements and open vessel space.
  • Implement the company chartering plan for tramp and scheduled liner trades.
  • Negotiate rates and contracts to achieve maximum revenues.
  • Understand cargo and stowage requirements and liaise with various departments to optimise same.

Qualifications and Personal Requirements:

  • At least 5 years work experience within the heavy lift/MPP sector, preferably with a shipowner.
  • Experience in IMOS is desirable.
  • A thorough understanding of terms and conditions and charter parties.
  • Transferable skills: excellent negotiation skills, analytical thinking, good customer service attitude, solid follow-up practices, good time management, able to work under tight deadlines and highly motivated.
